L’ETP en cryptomonnaies est désormais disponible en dollars et euros
Genève, le 7 février 2020 : Suite à la cotation du Bitcoin ETP libellé en euros, WisdomTree, émetteur de fonds (ETF) et produits (ETP) négociés en bourse, annonce que le WisdomTree Bitcoin ETP est désormais disponible dans ses versions en euros (WBTC) et en dollars (BTCW). Les Bitcoin ETP adossés à l’actif physique (1) sont cotés sur SIX, Swiss Stock Exchange, et les frais sur encours s’élèvent à 0,95 %.
Le WisdomTree Bitcoin ETP permet aux investisseurs de s’exposer au bitcoin de manière simple, sûre et abordable. Ce produit standard leur permet d’utiliser leurs structures de gestion de portefeuille, de conservation et de négociation des titres existantes. Grâce à cet ETP, les investisseurs peuvent accéder au bitcoin sans avoir à détenir cette monnaie virtuelle en direct, sans devoir stocker des clés d’accès privées, sans avoir à interagir avec la blockchain ou configurer une connexion avec l’infrastructure des monnaies virtuelles. Les investisseurs disposent également de solutions de conservation des titres de qualité institutionnelle et ils ne doivent donc pas avoir recours à un autre dépositaire.
L’ETP est négocié sur un marché réglementé et ses parts sont traitées au sein du système traditionnel de compensation et règlement-livraison des opérations sur titres. La cotation de l’ETP WisdomTree Bitcoin sur SIX Swiss Exchange permettra aux investisseurs de disposer d’un point d’accès global pour négocier leurs parts et ils bénéficieront d’une liquidité semblable à celle de tout autre titre coté en bourse. L’intégration des crypto-monnaies dans une structure ETP pourrait amener à une certaine centralisation de la liquidité de cette classe d’actifs et profiter à l’actif numérique sous-jacent.
Bien qu’au stade actuel WisdomTree s’adresse en priorité aux professionnels de l’investissement, nous estimons qu’un ETP en crypto-monnaies destiné à l’ensemble des investisseurs en Europe pourrait être approuvé à brève échéance par les autorités de réglementation. WisdomTree saluerait une telle initiative, car nous sommes convaincus que les produits standards qui permettent d’accéder aux marchés sont bénéfiques pour les investisseurs. Nous nous efforçons de rendre ces produits aussi largement disponibles que possible.

- L’ETP adossé à l’actif physique suivra l’évolution du cours au comptant du Bitcoin. WisdomTree procédera à l’achat de bitcoins et créera des parts de taille réduite qui pourront être échangées ou revendues en bourse.
