GENEVA FORUM FOR SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT 2023

The fourteenth edition of the GFSI, Geneva Forum for Sustainable Investment, a benchmark event for sustainable finance in French-speaking Switzerland, highlighted the crucial role of responsible investment in achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The reconfiguration of the emerging market bloc, the war in Ukraine and the lack of regulatory harmonisation were challenges addressed by the speakers. Workshops and conferences also showcased the latest investment opportunities and innovative approaches from asset managers. A roundtable discussion on ESG commitment of pension funds allowed participants, including Alessia Toricelli, Chief Financial Officer of the Caisse de prévoyance de l’Etat de Genève (CPEG), to address the concerns of the audience. Christian Petit, CEO of Romande Energie, closed a day of debate and learning by reminding the audience of the colossal challenges that global warming poses to the Swiss and international economies.
